“Rosie’s day at the fare eating toffee apples”

My inner child came out to play when styling this playful, bohemian, bazaar style, heartfelt girly interior space.

The ball and claw Armoire is an inherited piece that carries with it memories of going to Saturday morning fates with Granny Grant, eating pickles at midnight and sharing fried Chinese prawn chips on Friday evenings on her lounge persian rug, and after walking the oriental plaza flat in search of ONLY red pairs of shoes because that was the only colour shoe on my radar and still is!

Shoes just look better in RED! Every ornamental piece that stood on the glass shelves of her glass Armoire held a special memory of a moment shared with one of her three dearly loved children.

My inspirational piece is of course the Armoire, displaying ean eclectic mix of accessories. I painted the Armoire with a duck egg blue water based paint and applied antique glaze for an aged look.

This space was decorated with ALL HEART and if I had birthed a daughter her room would most definitely have been decorated with an eclectic vibe created by combining gingham, stripes, florals, and polka dots prints.

I had this beautiful cotton white single duvet set with gingham trim which I won at a fundraiser moons ago, I’ve added a scatter with  sacred heart prints and teal and yellow polka dot cloud shaped scatter both from www.designteam.co.za and added a yellow scatter from www.woolworths.co.za to accentuate the yellow ball and claw revamped and re-purposed chair I picked up at a yard sale ending with all of the colours of the rainbow striped throw purchased a long time ago, from www.mrpricehome.co.za.

I covered the top of the now, table, in another proudly South African designed fabric by www.meerkatshweshwe.com and brightened up with a yellow locally manufactured chalk paint from www.tjhokopaint.co.za.

I saved a broken Zozo hut door that was on its way to the scrap yard from a compost heap in a garden from a property we lived in, which has also served as a headboard. I whitewashed the door with white and blue acrylic paint, re-purposed here for hanging distressed picture frames and heart décor accessories.

I love www.peppertreebags.co.za, I bought this red fabric bag at this year’s www.kamersvolgeskenke.co.za at our beautiful Castle of Good Hope in Cape Town. This acrylic bicycle painting is my artwork in progress which worked in this space.

                                                     STYLE WITH ALL YOUR HEART!
                                                                    XOXO
